Kaleshwaram projects final environmental clearances
The Central Government has given final environmental clearances for the construction of Kaleshwaram Project.
Hyderabad : The Central Government has given final environmental clearances for the construction of Kaleshwaram Project.
Earlier, the Union Ministry of Forest and Construction Machinery Directorate had cleared the project and on Monday, the Centre granted remaining clearances which enabled speedy construction of the project. The Kaleshwaram project is expected to supply drinking and irrigation water to 14 districts Karimnagar, Sircilla, Siddipet, Medak, Bhongir, Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Nirmal , Medchal and Peddapalli.
Expressing happiness over getting Central clearances, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said that the project could now be completed on war footing. In the recent past, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao had personally inspected the barrages, pump houses and canals' works and wanted the officials to complete the construction by working in three shifts.
