Hyderabad : Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy has accused TRS Government of not fulfilling promises that it made with the people in 2014 elections.

In a media statement, Revanth Reddy alleged that the actual purpose of formation of Telangana State remained unachieved. He said the living condition of people in Telangana remained the same as they were in erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. He said only one family of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has benefited from the Telangana formation.

Revanth Reddy said not a single irrigation project got completed in united Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts during the last three-and-a-half years. He said almost 70-90% works of various projects were completed during previous Congress regime. However, by completing the remaining works, the TRS was trying to take credit for the entire project. He said from 1994 to 2014, the previous regimes had spent Rs. 8,344 Crore on Kalwakurthy,Koyal Sagar, Jurala, Nettampadu and Bheema projects while the present TRS Government had spent only Rs. 381 crore.

The Congress leader also claimed that the previous YSR Government had spent over Rs. 10,000 crore on Pranahita-Chevella project. However, the TRS Government shelved the entire project in the name of re-designing and launched Kaleshwaram project only to benefit the contractors.

Revanth Reddy also alleged that the TRS Government did not fulfil the promise of providing double bed room houses to poor, three acres of land for Dalit families, 12% reservation for Muslims and STs and one job for each family in Telangana State.
