Amidst growing speculation that the TRS Supremo is keen to play a role in national politics post 2019 elections, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday made it clear that he is not interested in national politics and rather would dedicate his entire life in the service of Telangana only.

Laying the foundation stone for ‘Golla-Kurma Bhavan’ at Rajendranagar, the Chief Minister said when he met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh recently, the latter enquired about the Telangana government’s new scheme of providing Rs 8,000 as incentive per acre to farmers annually from 2018. When Rajnath asked whether the farmer would have to repay the amount, KCR clarified to the Union minister that the beneficiaries need not repay as the objective of the scheme is to rescue the farmers from debts.
Awestruck by his reply, Rajnath posed another question whether he had any plans to plunge into national politics. KCR said he had told the him that he had no interest in national politics. “I told him I will dedicate my life in the service of Telangana people till death,” the CM said.
Announcing sanction of Rs 1 crore as capital for the Golla Kurma Special Fund being created by the Yadav community for their welfare permanently, KCR said the new building will provide accommodation to the poor students and orphans. The function hall will also help the poor parents perform their children’s marriage in the Bhavan.
Stating that the government is committed to distribute 84 lakh sheep to the beneficiaries this year, the Chief Minister said the Yadava community in Telangana will be the richest among their own communities in the country once the targets in the sheep distribution is completed. “Sheep-rearing is nothing but a moving bank for the beneficiaries.
Thirty-five lakh sheep were already distributed to the identified beneficiaries. After three years, all the beneficiaries would be rich possessing livestock worth crores. The community will also reach the stage to export sheep to other states,” he said.
KCR also announced that the youth form the Yadav community will be encouraged to set up meet processing units in the urban areas after the sheep count increased in the state. The government will provide subsidies in setting up the processing industries, he said, adding that an official delegation will visit Gulf countries and Germany to study the prospects of meat processing industry soon. To address the growing fodder problem, the CM said the forest department was already instructed to create grazing zones.
KCR claimed that though Telangana a new state in the country, it achieved many laurels by occupying top position in Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), revenue generation, solar power, establishment of more residential schools for BCs, SCs, STs and minorities and two-bedroom houses for the poor . State Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav, BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna and leaders from the Yadav community were present.
