On the night of New Year’s nearly 1200 cases were registered in drunk and drive checks conducted by the Hyderabad Traffic police.

1200 vehicles were also seized in the checks.
100 teams were formed by the police on the eve of New Year’s and special checks were conducted at 150 different places to prevent untoward incidents.
Anchor Machiraju Pradeep was also among the many who got caught in drunk and drive checks. The police conducted breath analyzer test for the anchor where it displayed 178.
Following this, the police detained his car and handed it over to the police station.
