Savitribai’s birth anniversary celebrated

Members of All India Democratic Women\'s Association (AIDWA) celebrated 187th birth anniversary of 19th century social reformer Savitribai Jyotirao Phule on a grand scale at Geetham College in Kamalanagar on Wednesday. Chief Guest T Jyothi and the College Principal Indira paid tributes to the social reformer by garlanding her portrait.
ECIL: Members of All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) celebrated 187th birth anniversary of 19th century social reformer Savitribai Jyotirao Phule on a grand scale at Geetham College in Kamalanagar on Wednesday. Chief Guest T Jyothi and the College Principal Indira paid tributes to the social reformer by garlanding her portrait.
The duo said Phule devoted her life for empowering of the poor and marginalised. They advised students to follow the footsteps of the poet. AIDWA Medchal Secretary M Vinoda, office-bearers Safiya Sulthana, Meena Kumari, Annapoorna, Sharada, students and others took part in the celebrations.
