Tread the path of Savitribai Phule, people told

Savitribai Phule Women’s Welfare Association (SPWWA) members celebrated the birth anniversary of social reformer Savitribai Phule on a grand note at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here on Wednesday.

Musheerabad: Savitribai Phule Women’s Welfare Association (SPWWA) members celebrated the birth anniversary of social reformer Savitribai Phule on a grand note at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here on Wednesday.

Speakers called upon people to follow foot-steps of Savitribai Phule who strived to abolish discrimination and unfair treatment of people on the basis of caste and gender. 
She led many agitations on women’s issues. They criticised the government for not being able to stop atrocities against women. 

Awards were given away to 150 persons who rendered yeomen services through voluntary organizations. 

SPWWA Founder President Bellam Madhavi, Corporation Chairperson Gundu Sudha Rani, Most Backward Classes (MBC) Chairman Taduri Srinivas, BC Commission Chairman B S Ramulu, Karimnagar Zillaparishad Chairperson Tula Uma and others took part in the celebrations
