Khairtabad: Sri Peetham pontiff Swamy Paripoornananda has described shifting executive officer A Surya Kumari of Sri Kanaka Durga temple at Vijayawada as a hasty step and expressed surprise at the Chief Minister, who in the past described her as an able officer, shifting her.
He was referring to the alleged tantric rituals performed at the Kanaka Durga temple. Addressing media at the Press Club, Somajiguda, on Wednesday, he observed: “The EO organised all festivals and events of the temple successfully and helped augment the temple’s revenue by 20 per cent. There was no evidence of performing tantric rituals at the temple. However, a probe should be ordered into the matter.” He strongly condemned urgent action taken against Surya Kumari.
