Supply water to every acre in Rabi
District Collector Devasena ordered the officials to take necessary steps to supply water for each and every acre of land in Rabi season. She held a tele-conference with SRSP officials and the officials of police and revenue departments here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said about 2.26 lakhm acres will be cultivated in Rabi season across the district, under D-83 and D-86 canals. The officials of police and revenue departments in coordination with the SRSP officials must prepare a perfect plan for supplying water till the last ayucut land as the water would be released through SRSP canal.
She told them to monitor water supply by deploying staff at every OT and not to give permission for fitting motors illegally and to prevent misuse of water by using motors and auto starters.
The officials were told to open or close the gates to release water only after getting the orders from Superintending Engineer of SRSP. They were also told to remove weeds that were grown in the canals. Mobile teams will work round the clock during water release in the second phase under the supervision of Assistant Engineers, informed the Collector.
Devasena told the officials to solve the issues after identifying problematic areas and warned them to be alert at the time of water supply through SRSP canal for irrigation purpose.
