Telangana police to geo-tag criminals in state
A comprehensive survey of geo-tag criminals in Telangana, titled ‘Sakala Nerasthula Samagra Survey’ was launched on Thursday.
A comprehensive survey of geo-tag criminals in Telangana, titled ‘Sakala Nerasthula Samagra Survey’ was launched on Thursday.
Aimed to identify and geo-tag criminals, the system will aid the Telangana police to keep a track of criminals and to single-out those who repeatedly commit crimes.
In a bid to curb criminal activities in the state and to make Telangana free from crime, the project has been launched.
Speaking in this regard, Director-General of Police M Mahender Reddy said that all police officers in Telangana, beginning from the lowest rank up to the DGP, will thoroughly inspect the habitation under their jurisdiction and enrol offenders with the criminal history to the database which will include fingerprints, photographs, and other details of criminals.
Offenders will have a 360-degree profile prepared in the database with their current activities included. With Telangana government taking up technology-backed schemes to address the issues of the state, geo-tag is the second initiative after the TSCOP app launched to enable better coordination and communication between the policemen.
