Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday said AICC President Rahul Gandhi, during his visit to Telangana State, would interact with professional to seek their views.

The TPCC President stressed need for the professionals to join politics to protect democracy. He was addressing a meeting organised on the occasion of launching seven new chapters of All Indian Professional Congress here on Saturday.

Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy, AIPC, south convenor, J Geetha Reddy, MLA N Padmavathi Reddy, TPCC chief spokesperson Sravan Dasoju and other senior leaders were present.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said democracy was in danger ever since the BJP and TRS came to power at the Centre and in the State respectively. He alleged that the human rights were being violated.

He recalled that it was Sardar Patel who had banned the communal organisations like the RS. Jana Reddy said he himself was a professional and was into teaching before joining politics. He underlined the need for the professionals to play a vital role in nation building. He said in the early days of independence, the country was run by governments headed by highly qualified professionals.

Geetha Reddy said that the All India Professional Congress was constituted to ensure that the professionals participate in the decision-making process. She alleged that the Modi government was pursuing communal politics. She said professionals could play a major role in curbing communalism.
