Mahbubnagar: Despite many hurdles, the TRS government is keen on fulfilling the promises mentioned in its manifesto, stated Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy. He participated in foundation laying ceremony for the construction of double bedroom (DBR) houses in Kistampally village of Jadcherla Mandal in Mahabubnagar district on Sunday.

As part of fulfilling its promises, the government has launched the prestigious double bedroom houses in the State, he said. No government had taken such a bold step of constructing 2BHK houses for the poor, earlier in the State or in the country.

Even though there are some hiccups here and there, the government was committed to complete all the constructions on time, the Minister stated. Later, Laxma Reddy also participated in foundation stone laying ceremony of construction of B T Road for Kistampally at a cost of Rs 2 crores.

While enumerating various governments’ initiatives to make the newly formed Telangana a Golden State, Dr Reddy said the government is catering to the needs of each and every community in the society.

The government has taken bold steps to improve healthcare infrastructure in hospitals, filled vacant posts of doctors, nurses and other supporting staff in hospitals and the KCR Kit has become one of the biggest hits in the country, which has totally changed the face of government hospitals across the State.

“Thanks to the introduction of KCR Kits, from a meagre 10-12 per cent institutional deliveries before the State formation, today we are witnessing 50-60 per cent of institutional deliveries. All the credit goes to TRS government and its innovative polices,” said the Minister.

Within a short span of three and half years after Telangana formation, the State witnessed a remarkable change with regard to healthcare, education, irrigation agriculture, industries and power sectors.

Laxma Reddy said very soon the State government will embark to connect all gram panchayats with BT roads in the State and all the Tandas with more than a population of 500 people are going to become grama panchayats, which will help in improving not only infrastructure facilities in villages but also improve living standards.
