Election for 3 Rajya Sabha seats in Telangana on March 23
The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the schedule for conduct of biennial elections for three seats of Rajya Sabha in and Telangana as the term of sitting members is due to expire on April 2, 2018.
Hyderabad : The Election Commission of India on Saturday announced the schedule for conduct of biennial elections for three seats of Rajya Sabha in and Telangana as the term of sitting members is due to expire on April 2, 2018.
The notification for the Rajya Sabha elections will be issued on March 5 and last date for filing of nominations will be 12th March. While nominations will be scrutinised on 13th March, the last date for withdrawal of candidature will be 15th March. Polling will be held on 23rd March from 9 AM to 4 PM and counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5 PM.
The term of Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar of Congress and C.M. Ramesh of TDP ends on April 2, seat held by Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy fell vacant due to his demise on June 9, 2017. His term too was due to expire on April 2.
