KCR to meet Mamata for Federal Front on Monday
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao began an exercise to create a strong political alternative to BJP and Congress at the national level. As a first step, the TRS supremo is likely to visit Kolkata on Monday and meet West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

Party sources said that KCR will discuss with Trinamool Congress president Mamata about the proposed Federal Front to be launched in May or June by conglomerating all non-BJP and non-Congress parties in the country. Mamata has been maintaining distance from BJP and Congress since 2014 general elections. The TRS chief will seek Mamata’s help to form the front by roping in likeminded political organisations.
TRS secretary general and MP K Keshava Rao will accompany KCR during his West Bengal tour. KCR will explain his party MPs’ fight for according more powers to the state governments in finalizing quota for local communities in education and employment. The TRS MPs were stalling the Lok Sabha every day on the reservation issue in the ongoing budget session. The TRS president will explain in detail the agenda he prepared for the proposed Federal Front in the meeting.
Source said that KCR was already in touch with Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, BSP president Mayawati and Left-wing party leaders at national level. After meeting with Mamata, KCR is likely to go to Delhi and meet other party leaders. The TRS chief is planning to hold a meeting with likeminded political parties before the formation of the Front.
