Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari on Friday said that certain proposals received by the Grandhalaya Parishad seeking funds for the construction of library buildings in Telangana were under consideration.
Replying to a question raised by TRS MLCs Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, Karne Prabhakar and Patnam Narender Reddy in Legislative Council during Question Hour, the Deputy CM informed that there were 31 District Central Libraries, 537 Branch Libraries and 831 Book Deposit Centres functioning under 31 Zilla Grandhalaya Samsthas in the State. He said no grants have been sanctioned for Book Deposit Centres and cess funds are utilised for these Centres.
