Over 6,100 Gudumba sellers rehabilitated: Minister
Excise and Prohibition Minister T. Padma Rao said that the manufacturing of Gudumba has been completely stopped in Telangana State.
Hyderabad: Excise and Prohibition Minister T. Padma Rao said that the manufacturing of Gudumba has been completely stopped in Telangana State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy in Legislative Assembly during Question Hour on Friday, the minister said that the State Government has provided rehabilitation to 6,180 Gudumba sellers.
He said that the government has been promoting Palmyra and date palm tree in villages and upto 2017 a total of 169.44 lakh Date Palms have been planted. He said a target of planting of two crore Date plants has been set for the year 2018-19. Other measures taken for protection includes involving Society/TFT members providing watch and ward charges through NREGS to Society individual members, etc.,
