Hyderabad: All seems to be not well in the TRS government. If it was a frustrated Chevella ZPTC member C Sailaja Reddy who put up her flat for sale to fulfil her election promises recently, upset over the state government not releasing funds to the local body, it is now the turn of TRS MLA N Bhaskar Rao who alleged in the Assembly that there is discrimination in grant of funds because he was originally from the Congress.

Bhaskar Rao poured out his grievance over not getting road works for Miryalaguda, which is his constituency in Nalgonda district. He wondered if it was because he came from Congress. The issue came up during the Question Hour when TRS member S Ramlinga Reddy raised a question on when re-carpeting of BT Roads would be done in his constituency Dubbaka.

Bhaskar Rao alleged that there was discrimination in laying of the roads in his constituency. “When we approach R&B department, they asked me to contact Panchayat Raj department which asked me to go back to R and B”, he said.

A few of the ruling party members too were unhappy over the delay in taking up road works in their constituencies and wanted the government to speed up the process. Ruling party members S Ramlinga Reddy, A Ramesh, Babu Mohan and Ravinder Naik also raised the issue of bad roads in their constituencies.

Ramlinga Reddy pointed out that there is a road connecting Dubbaka and Sircilla and the authorities had repaired the road near Sircilla but not near Dubbaka. Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary said that he was also facing the same problem in his constituency and wanted the minister to think about where the problem lay.

Minister J Krishna Rao said that there is a network of 69,500 km PR roads in the State and 22,000 km are BT Roads. During the last three and half years 12,657 km road works were taken up. He said that Rs 900 crore were needed for renewal of 4,695 km and the works were under the consideration of the government.
