Speaking during the ‘Walk for the Water’ programme from Bairan Cheruvu to the Bachupalli Gram Panchayat office, to mark the World Water Day, she said the organisation worked with the slogan of saving/protecting water. Rani called upon members of the community to strive for protecting the lakes of Hyderabad, which was the main stress of the organisation. ‘Everyone should feel the responsibility of saving water bodies; then alone everybody would get the feeling of belonging.
Otherwise in future photographs of streams and ponds would have to be shown. Instead of giving properties to children it is better to ensure water to them as life would be difficult without water’. She underlined the importance of every house opting for rainwater harvesting structure. Bachupally president Pandu, EO Raj Kumar, ZP chairperson Prabhakar participitated in the programme. Earlier school students took out an awareness rally in the town.
