Govt: 93 pc land records cleansed
Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali on Friday said the government has cleared 2,39,81,994 acres land records out of the total 2,56,70,814 acres land records in the State as part of the cleansing of land records.

The Deputy Chief Minister was replying to a question on the cleansing of land records taken up by the government in the State raised by TRS member V Srinivas Goud. The Minister said out of the total 2,56,70,814 acres land so far 2,39,81,994 acres were cleared and 16,88,976 is yet to be cleared, which constitute 93 per cent. As per the cleansing of the records, of the total lands, 1,43,15,067.5 acres were agriculture land, 11,99,489 acres non-agriculture land, 20,13,868 acres was assigned land, 74,90,155 acres of Endowments land and 45,570 acres of Wakf land and 42,35,682 acres forest land.
The Minister said pattas will be issued in the name of Endowments Department if the lands belong to Endowments. Similarly, if the lands belong to Wakf Board, the pattas would be issued in the name of Wakf Board. He said the patta pass books would be like the passport, which has special security features. These pass books cannot be prepared anywhere, he added.
Mahmood Ali said the second phase will be starting within two months and the pass books would be ready by April and distribution will be started immediately. The forest lands disputes will be resolved in the second phase. The Collectors will be talking to the Forest Officials on the disputes. Replying to a question, the Minister said the Army Jawans can sell their lands without waiting for NOC.
The Minister said the beneficiaries of the assign lands given by the government will be getting the patta. Even the assigned lands were transferred to others from weaker sections will be given pattas but if these lands are transferred to rich persons pattas will not be given. Replying to another question, the Minister said the authorities have been asked not to insist in payment of hefty penalty for the houses regularised under GO 58 and 59.
The Minister said the Chief Minister announced one-month basic pay as incentive to the revenue officials involved in cleansing of the records. About 35,172 employees will get the benefit and the burden on the government was Rs 72 crore, he added.
