Kerala CM to launch pravasi pension scheme in City
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will launch the Pravasi Pension scheme for non-resident Keralites on April 21 at 4 pm at Ravindra Bharathi at a function organised by the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), Telangana and the Pravasi Welfare Board of the Kerala Government.
Hyderabad: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will launch the Pravasi Pension scheme for non-resident Keralites on April 21 at 4 pm at Ravindra Bharathi at a function organised by the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), Telangana and the Pravasi Welfare Board of the Kerala Government. AIMA Telangana is processing the application forms for the pravasi pension and has already opened a pravasi help desk for this purpose.
The pravasis (non-resident keralites) who are enrolled in the pravasi pension scheme from all over India who have are over 60 years will get a monthly pension of Rs 2,000. Those who have enrolled will have to pay a monthly contribution of Rs.100/- for a minimum period of five years. Those who make more contributions till they attain the age of 60 will get more pension accordingly. However those who are getting State or Central Government pensions and any other government pensions are not eligible for the pravasi pension. Further details of the scheme are available online.
Pinarayi Vijayan will also flag off an Ambulance being launched by the All India Malayalee Association. This will be made available to all the needy people. The details of the operation of the AIMA Ambulance are being worked out. Mr.Vijayan is in Hyderabad in connection with the National Congress of the CPM which will begin tomorrow.
The function at Ravindra Bharathi will start at sharp 3 p.m. with a variety cultural programme by a group of artistes from Folklore Academy, Kerala led by its Chairman C.J.Kuttappan and his famous troupe.
