Bharat Nagar: It is more than 10 years now since the locals of Bharat Nagar are bearing hardships and no effective action was taken up by the authorities to refurbish the colony by resolving various civic issues.

With locals being unable to withstand the unending negligence of the authorities went on a rampage to highlight the issues that includes overflowing drainage, dusty and broken roads and also focused on the difficulty of shopkeepers to the roadside to run business with drainage water entering into their shops during monsoon.

In the view of the bad conditions, the authorities had turned a blind eye and never made an attempt to redress the decade old problems. Instead in an act against democracy, Amin Yudin the husband of the local corporator Mumtaz Fathima, had allegedly beaten up the locals and attempted to disrupt their protest.

Iman Maskusi, local said, "It is against ethics for the authorities to launch a fight with the locals and inject fear in them to just turn them away." Along with Iman, who lead the protest, as many as 200 locals claimed that the authorities should begin the repair works immediately and will intensify our protest if they fail to do it.
