A village in Warangal district has undergone a major transformation in terms of development. The village which is about eight km away from Parkal town is now, a turning into a mini modern city with CCTV cameras to CC roads and an air-conditioned bus station.

A village in Warangal district has undergone a major transformation in terms of development. The village which is about eight km away from Parkal town is now, a turning into a mini modern city with CCTV cameras to CC roads and an air-conditioned bus station.

The person behind this movement is businessman and TRS State joint secretary from the village, Pochamapally Srinivas Reddy who is leading the transformation efforts.

In a quote to Telangana Today, he shared his intentions to develop the village on par with cities. Having adopted the village after the 2015 bypoll to the Warangal Lok Sabha constituency, Srinivas Reddy thanked the State government for releasing the funds for different projects which made infrastructure development possible.

So far, work on CC roads was taken up at a cost of Rs 3 crore whereas an LED and solar-powered central lighting system were installed with Rs 55 lakh. Also, 12 CCTV cameras were installed at various centres in the village and the construction of the AC bus station is in progress. A modern gram panchayat building is being constructed at a cost of Rs 45 lakh, a convention hall with an expenditure of Rs 1 crore, 33/11 KV sub-station to ensure quality power supply construction of side-drains, individual sanitary latrines (ISLs) to improve sanitation and hygiene are also the other initiatives taken up.

As a part of the modernization drive, the government school in the village was equipped with new benches and desk while a Shiva temple was being built at a cost of Rs 45 lakh.

400 double-bedroom houses for the poor families will soon be constructed in the village for which Srinivas Reddy has handed over 5.20 acres of land to the government.
