Bhupalpally: The long pending desire of public in Bhupalpally town was fulfilled with the inauguration of new RTC bus station on Thursday.

Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary and Minister for Transport P Mahender Reddy inaugurated a newly built RTC bus station with seven platforms at Bhupalpally and launched other developments works as well. They appealed the public to patronise TSRTC, saying it is the people’s transport system.

Prior to that, riding on a motorbike, they led a massive bike rally from the Speakers’ camp office at Manzur Nagar to the bus stand. The rally was participated by thousands of TRS workers and leaders.

Later addressing a public meeting, the Speaker said when he was elected as MLA, there were only 35 buses at Bhupalpally depot and the number of buses was now doubled. The public should travel in RTC buses to keep it in a financially healthy state and also it is the safe mode of transport, he said.

Madhusudhana Chary claimed that there were highest number of bus shelters in Bhupalpally constituency and steps were being taken to develop the constituency and the district to meet the demands of future population.

The ongoing ‘Palle Nidra’ is meant to associate with people and to understand their needs, the Speaker said while thanking the TSRTC, Transport Minister and the State government for constructing bus station in Bhupalpally for the benefit of the people.

Mahender Reddy informed that the RTC with its 10,200 bus services transports nearly 90 lakh people every day. Even though the corporation is facing losses, the bus services are being run very efficiently and Rs 1,000 crore spent to procure new buses.

The Minister lauded the Speaker for his development initiatives in the constituency and wanted the public to support him. Bhupalpally, which was neglected in the past 60 years, is now witnessing faster development after the TRS government made it a district headquarters.

TSRTC Chairman S Satyanarayana, Warangal MP P Dayakar and Telangana State Handicapped Development Corporation chairman K Vasudeva Reddy and others have also heaped praises on the Speaker for developing Bhupalpally constituency in a rapid manner.

Vasudeva Reddy and Dayakar said that public living in the town hitherto used to board and alight the RTC buses on roads. The committed efforts made by the Speaker and Bhupalpally MLA Madhusudhana Chary have fulfilled public desire, they added.
