Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed his Cabinet colleagues to provide him people’s feedback on Rythu Bandhu scheme and pattadar passbook distribution programme at the Cabinet meeting to be held on Sunday.

Besides ratifying the government’s decision to the creation of 7 zones and two multi-zones and approve the farmers' insurance scheme, the Chief Minister will deliberate in detail with ministers on the political impact of the crop incentive scheme and passbook distribution in the state.

Barring ministers hailing from Greater Hyderabad- Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav and Excise and Prohibition Minister T Padma Rao Goud -- all the ministers have been asked to furnish the details of the progress in the implementation of the schemes in their respective districts. The CM will inquire about the changing political equations in the districts post the launch of the schemes which aim to benefit the largest community of 58 lakh farmers in the state.

KCR will also ascertain whether the schemes would derive a windfall of political gains for the TRS in 2019 elections. The issue of tenant farmers problems will also take place in the meeting and it remains to be seen if KCR would mellow down and bring them under the scheme or make the farmers pay tenants in some ratio mutually acceptable.

Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Revenue Minister Mahmood Ali and Finance Minister E Rajender will place a report before the Cabinet on the efforts made by their departments in the successful conduct of the programmes which include the distribution of cheques to the farming community launched on May 10 in the state.

The other ministers will make their observations mainly on the changing farmers’ perception of the government and the benefits of the schemes to them.

Sources said that KCR will also discuss the arrangements being made for the launch of the new insurance scheme for farmers to be launched on August 15 in all districts.
