A delegation of Congress leaders, to be headed by Jana Reddy is set to meet Assembly speaker S Madhusudana Chary on June 11 to put forth the situation of the two expelled Congress legislators - Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar, who despite having the court’s judgement in their favour but are not being restored their membership in the Assembly.

The delegation will also be meeting Chief Secretary SK Joshi later in this regard.

Following the Congress leaders are planning to undertake a 24-hour-long protest fast and also meet President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi to complain regarding the state government’s negligence of implementing the High Court’s order annulling the expulsion of Komatireddy and Sampath.

The leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others held a meeting on Friday to plan the proceedings.

Speaking in this connection, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Congress would file a contempt of court petition in the High Court against Telangana government and Assembly authorities for not implementing court’s verdict.

He said that Congress has decided to take up a series of programmes, including holding public meetings, in Alampur and Khammam to expose the ‘undemocratic’ attitude of the government.

The TPCC President also said that the TRS government is adopting dictatorial methods and is suppressing the voice of opposition parties and the undemocratic expulsion of two Congress members from the House is a clear example for that.
