Warangal: A few farmers of Mylaram village in Rayaparthy mandal in Warangal Rural district on Wednesday staged a protest at the local electricity sub-station.

They alleged that their village was without power supply for the past three days. Many complaints to local TSNPDCL officials yielded no result and the sub-station operator and lineman were not responding to the villager’s calls.

As a mark of protest, they locked the sub-station control room and staged dharna. The villagers P Kiran Kumar Reddy, S Raji Reddy, Purushotham and others complained that they were facing trouble even to get drinking water due to lack power supply.

Complaining that they couldn’t water their paddy nurseries, the farmers of the village demanded the officials to take steps to restore power supply urgently. If the power supply was not restored immediately, all the villagers would stage massive protest at the sub-station, they warned.

Meanwhile, NPDCL CMD A Gopal Rao has appealed public to lodge their complaints related to electric supply by dialling the tollfree number 18004250028/1912 or the concerned section officer and the staff would address the complaints.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he asked the farmers’ coordination committees in 16 districts under the company jurisdiction, to identify issues like loose electric lines, bent or broken electric poles, low voltage or high voltage issues and defunct transformers and lodge complaints.

In view of the monsoon season and frequent thunderstorms, the company has kept its emergency teams ready to meet any emergency to help domestic consumers and farmers. The farmers’ coordination committees should help the company to protect farmers and cattle electric accidents.
