KCR meets PM Modi, raises issues concerned to Telangana

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is in New Delhi to attend Niti Ayog meeting or the Chief Ministers of all States convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, June 17. met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. In their first meeting after seven months, KCR met Modi on Friday where he informed him regarding the various issues which are raising a concern to Telangana.

As per the reports, he submitted an appeal to PM Modi on at least 66 issues, the main among them is the inclusion of reservations for jobs in the 9th schedule since it has reached 50 percent.

Also, the Chief Minister explained on the recent zonal system for staff recruitment and sought his cooperation to recommend the proposal to the President Ram Nath Kovind, for his approval.

Among the other issues, KCR held discussions on various farmers' welfare programmes such as Rythu Bandhu and proposed farmers insurance scheme while seeking the Centre’s support for providing Minimum Support Price for various crops. In the hour-long meeting, the Chief Minister took up the issue of pending funds with PM Modi as well as seek national status for Kaleshwaram project on the lines of Polavaram project taken up in Andhra Pradesh and honour the promises made to Telangana following the formation under AP Reorganisation Act.

Sources reveal that he even sought out the AP Bhavan in Delhi to be allotted only to Telangana and not for Andhra Pradesh.
