Hyderabad: The motorist at the RTA offices across the city were forced to wait for more than three hours on Monday due to server problems and later in the day, the applicants were asked to come back on Tuesday as they could not resolve the problem.

However, according to the RTA rules applicants have to book a slot for Learner’s License test and have to report at the given time and undergo the process of Learner’s test and if they fail to report on the same date and time they must again apply for the slot. As per the rules, if the motorists come for LLR test, the applicant would have to pay Rs 300 for motor cycle, Rs 450 if there is two class of vehicles (motor cycle and car) and Rs 500 for three class of vehicles (motor cycle, car and auto rickshaw). If the applicant fails to attend for test on scheduled date, he would have to forego the application fee and would have to apply afresh paying the total money.

An applicant at RTA office said, “Without attending my college, I have been waiting here from 10 am for my Learner’s license, but due to server problem I will have to again come back on Tuesday”. Another applicant said that we have been waiting here for more than three hours but the department did not resolve the server problem, when we ask them for an alternate option they refuse to comment.

Telangana Auto and Motor Welfare Union general secretary M Dayanand said that the department has to change the central server because in a week at least two-three days server is down. He said that RTA collects Rs 100 as service charges at the time of booking the slot but when RTA is unable to provide its services then why are thy charging.
