Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday laid the foundation stone for the construction of multi-level flyovers and grade separators at Botanical Gardens and Kothaguda junction.

In a bid to ease traffic congestion in these areas, the project is being taken up and has received an administrative sanction of 263 crores. According to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the project is also expected to reduce the traffic at Kondapur Junction by 65 percent.

Speaking on the occasion, KTR elaborated on the sincere efforts by the government to improve the condition of roads and ease traffic. He said that besides building flyovers and subways, public transport is being improved as a part of the special roadworks.

Stating that the government aims to create more facilities for commuters as part of improving living standards, the Minister said that Sherlingampalli is growing and development activities are taking place accordingly.
