Hyderabad: Did the Prime Minister Narendra Modi play to the gallery during his reply on no confidence motion on Friday? If his body language and the gestures he made on the floor of the house clearly indicate that he was more interested in cheap politics and in the process, Prime Minister had lowered the dignity of the Lok Sabha said the former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.

He said Rahul Gandhi perhaps wanted to demonstrate that he does hate even those who have ill will against him and that is why he might have hugged the Prime Minister. It is a different whether he should have done so on the floor of the house or not. But the way Modi moved away from his seat and made certain gestures during his reply was something unexpected and unbecoming of a man occupying such high position, he said.

Rahul Gandhi never asked him to get up from the seat or vacate it. But Modi made it appear, so which is highly objectionable, and he should tender unconditional apology. He also criticised Modi for unleashing a smear campaign against Rahul Gandhi during his public meeting in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. This vindicates Rahul Gandhi’s charge that Modi was nurturing hatred against him, he added.
