Congress women see TRS plot

​Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Women Wing condemned the allegations levelled by one Vijayalaxmi Reddy against senior party leader Gandra Venkatramana Reddy and said the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government was trying to defame personal image of Gandra as the TRS was unable to face him politically.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Monday along with TPCC Women Wing president Nerella Sharada, Congress national women leader Seethakka demanded that the State government initiate action against Vijayalaxmi Reddy by conducting an inquiry into her false allegations. She said that they would meet DGP on the issue.

She alleged that the TRS was trying to weaken the Congress leaders, who had winning chances in 2019 elections, politically. “It was shameful on the part of the TRS to use women for low level politics,” she alleged and suggested that the TRS stop blackmailing politics. Gandra Venkatramana Reddy’s wife Jyothi alleged that the TRS government was trying to destroy the winning chances of her husband by resorting to false publicity against him. She said the people were giving top priority to Gandra Venkatramana Reddy.

She threw a challenge to the TRS asking it not to resort ‘adangi’ politics but to face her husband in peoples’ field. She warned that they would not keep quiet if anyone criticised their family by believing in a ‘maya’ lady’s words.

Speaking on the occasion, lawyer Sunitha Rao alleged that the TRS was resorting to low level politics only to obstruct winning horses of the Congress. She pointed out that the TRS, which failed to induct women in the State Cabinet, was using women for bad motives.
