Hyderabad: A man attempted to immolate himself in front of Banjara Hills Police Station on Wednesday.

According to the police, the man, identified as Satish, a resident of Musheerabad and married a girl from Banjara Hills. But lately, the couple were indulging in a lot of arguments, as a result of which the woman returned to her parent’s house.

While Satish continuously made attempts to bring her back, he even went to his in-laws’ house but a quarrel ensued following which his father-in-law lodged a complaint at Banjara Hills Police Station.

Based on the complaint, Satish was called for questioning. As he felt humiliated, Satish asked his father-in-law to withdraw the complaint and even went on to threaten him of dire consequences.

Satish, then went to Banjara Hills Police Station and poured petrol over himself in a bid to immolate himself. Noticing the flames, the policemen put off the fire and rushed him to hospital.

The condition is learned to be critical as Satish suffered severe burns all over his body.
