Devotees offering prayers at a Ganesh pandal in Hanamkonda on Friday

Hanamkonda (Warangal-U): Vinayaka Chavithi was celebrated across erstwhile Warangal district on Thursday with religious fervour. Devotees thronged various temples to offer prayers on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, which is celebrated as a mark of Lord Ganesha's rebirth day.

As part of Ganapthi Navaratri celebration, the Bharatiya Janata Party cadres organised poor feeding programme at Balasamudram here on Friday, the second of Ganesh fiesta. Warangal Urban district president Rao Padma Amarender Reddy who participated in the programme, sought the blessings of Lord Ganesha to one and all.

She said that the elephant-headed God will not only bring wisdom but also remove obstacles from the paths of the lives of devotees. BJP State executive member Gandrathi Yadagiri, Kancheti Somaiah, Gandi Swamy, Raghupathy, Prasad, Kumar, Venkatalaxmi and Sulochana were among others present.
