Neredmet: A dissident in the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party resorted to protest here on Friday seeking ticket to contest the ensuing Assembly elections. The TRS Yapral division president Mothe Saikumar, who withdrew from contention as a corporator in 2016 as advised by Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, on Friday garlanded the Telugu Talli statue here as a mark of protest. He demanded the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency ticket to only Telangana agitators.

Seaking to the media, Saikumar expressed anguish over denial of the TRS ticket to those agitators who have been working since long for the ruling party. He contended that there was no recognition to those who played a key role in the separate Telangana agitation. Saikumar urged the party to at least now to provide him an opportunity to contest the elections. Among those who joined him in the protest were Narsimha Goud, Venkatesh Yadav, Rajesh, Satish Kumar, Mallesh, Ravinder, Srisailam, Ramesh.
