BJP launches tirade against TRS

Update: 2018-09-19 05:30 IST

Warangal: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government of hastening Assembly election for its vested interests. Speaking at a meeting in Hanamkonda on Tuesday, BJP Warangal Rural district president Edla Ashok Reddy said: “The TRS has conspired to catch the Opposition parties off guard by advancing the Assembly elections so that it can muster majority.

The TRS intentionally removed or may be a case of accident, the names of non-TRS voters. In any case, it will give undue advantage to the TRS.   Even the names of BJP candidates, who are supposed to contest in the ensuing Assembly elections, also missing in the voter list, he alleged.

“The name of Chandupatla Keerthi Reddy, who is likely to contest from Bhupalpally constituency on BJP ticket, is also missing,” Reddy said, accusing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of not giving enough time to the Election Commission to update the electorate list.

All these indicates that TRS had lost hope of winning, he said, demanding KCR to explain the reasons why he had gone for early polls. By going to polls nine months ahead of schedule, KCR is also wasting public money, he said.

“KCR forgotten the very concept of Telangana State is neellu, nidhulu, niyamakalu (water, funds and employment) and now he is in a hurry to see his son KTR as the next chief minister,” Reddy said.

In another development, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State president Gundagoni Bharath said that they have plans to organise youth summits in all the 119 constituencies in Telangana State to highlight the failures of the TRS government led by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Speaking at a meeting of the combined Warangal and Khammam districts’ Yuva Morcha cluster meeting in Hanamkonda, BJYM State president said that Telangana became possible only after fighting for several decades and sacrificing over 1,200 lives. Many of the unemployed youth have eagerly awaited with the slogan “Our State – Our jobs” and hoped that their future would be golden.

However, the Telangana government created a record by not filling any of the vacancies across the State. Even it failed to provide unemployment allowance to the jobless youth, he added.

The TRS government is running the State with the examination fees accrued through various job notifications, he alleged. The BJYM had decided to explain the anti-people’s policies of the KCR government and enlighten the youth at polling-booth-wise about the failures of the TRS government. For this purpose, BJYM has decided to organise constituency-wise youth summits to highlight the failures of the KCR governance.

BJYM district president Gundameedi Srinivas, Cluster in-charge Srinivas Naidu, Yuva Morcha State leaders Jalagam Ranjith, Bandi Sambaiah Yadav, Yedunuthula Vamsichand Reddy, Polchani Sunil Rao, Kiran Reddy, Sriman, Bantu Ramesh, and combined Warangal and Khammam district presidents, general secretaries and other State leaders participated in the programme.
