Voter enrolment drive yields good results

Hyderabad:  Enrollment of new voters under special summary revision of electoral rolls, which was launched on September 10 by Election Commission, has been receiving immense response. Already, a total of 20 lakh new voters have been enrolled during the drive.  Credit for registration of highest number of new voters should go to State Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar who put in place hassle-free procedure for enrolment of voters, For the first time, the Election Commission deployed BLOs (Booth-level Officers) at all polling booths and enabled the registering of new voter names on the spot by using iPads.

The new voters were asked fill the application forms on the spot and submit them with a proof which include Aadhaar card, ration card and driving license, The BLOs uploaded the application and submit the same n online to the state CEO.   The Commission also made available E- registration facility on its  official website  ceotelangana.nic.in.  Voters have to select their own Assembly constituency and fill the forms to be made available online. 

Form 6 was for new enrollment, form 7 for objections for inclusion of names, form 8- correct your card and form 8A is for transpose your card. Along with applications, citizens should also upload the necessary documents as proofs.    After submitting the application online, the voters have the option to track the status on a day to day basis through National Voters Service Portal. 

Once a voter name is confirmed in the constituency voters list, he/she will receive a message on the mobile from the CEO.  To verify the names in the electoral rolls, the Commission introduced services through SMS. You can Send SMS to 9223166166 TS <SPACE> VOTE <SPACE> VOTERID NO    Example:-   TS   VOTE  ABC1234567  (OR) Send SMS to 51969 TS <SPACE> VOTE <SPACE> VOTERID NO     Example:-   TS   VOTE  ABC1234567 . The voters will get response in a short time.
