Mass immersion of Ganesh idols held

Vikarabad: The mass immersion of Ganesh idols was organised here on Sunday with devotion and fervour. The procession prior to the immersion, marked drumbeats, dances by women, different feats by youth and other cultural activities. People not only from Vikarabad, but also from around the town visited in large number and participated in this ‘Shobha Yatra’.

Youth Congress leaders of Indranagar Colony grabbed the big ‘laddu’ for Rs 2.21 lakh in auction. President of Indranagar Ganesh Utsav Committee said that every year, they celebrate Ganesh festival beyond caste, creed and religion. Police arranged tight security to avoid unwanted incidents. The grand procession ended at Abanuru tank, where all the idols were immersed.
