Hyderabad: Stating that the next 60 days would be highly crucial for the Congress party, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday urged the party cadre to strive to ensure victory for the party.

Addressing the Congress party workers in a live interaction on social media platforms Facebook and YouTube, Uttam Kumar Reddy said caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao could stoop to any level to win the elections. He expressed the fear that the TRS could misuse official machinery and police, besides employing money and muscle power to influence the outcome of the polls.

"If you are able to reach the masses in the next 60 days and convince them how they have been cheated by Chandrashekara Rao government, then the Congress party will certainly win the next elections," he said.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the cases of tampering with Electronic Voting Machines were reported on a large-scale after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrashekara Rao came to power.

Therefore, he said that the Congress workers should take up two major challenges. The party activists should ensure that the electoral rolls at the polling booth level are free from discrepancies and they should also check the functioning of EVMs which will be deployed beginning from September 26.

Uttam Kumar Reddy said the Congress party, when voted to power in the next elections, would construct two lakh houses for the poor every year, give Rs 5 lakh to families who want to construct their houses on their own land, all cardholders would be supplied 7 kg of fine rice per person and all Dalit and Girijan famililes would be provided ration at free of cost.

The TPCC chief said the Congress, if voted to power, would also double the Aasra pension, eligibility for old age pension would be reduced to 58 years, pension for physically handicapped would be doubled, 10 lakh unemployed youth would be paid a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 each, waive crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh at one go, as many as 17 crops would be given a guarantee of minimum support price and the market intervention fund of Rs 5,000 would be created, Rs 1 lakh grant would be given to six lakh women SHGs besides arranging Rs 10 lahk bank loans and the interest on the loan would be paid by the State government, women would be given their due importance and proper representation in the government.

More than one lakh Congress workers have been connected with Uttam Kumar Reddy through various social media platforms on Sunday. TPCC chief also had a direct tele-conference with nearly 30,000 booth and mandal presidents in three spells, 10,000 in each session.

Speaking to party workers through tele-conference, Uttam Kumar Reddy asked them to remain alert to various tactics likely to be adopted by the TRS leaders in their respective constituencies.
