Suryapet: A fun driving of a tractor caused irreparable damage to the lives of several poor workers when the electric poles-laden vehicle driven by the supervisor overturned and all the occupants of tractor trolley were buried under the load. As a result, two workers died in the accident and several received serious injuries.

The incident took place at Vallabapuram outskirts of Chivemla mandal in the district and the deceased were identified as Lunavath Sunder (35), Lunavath Sangu (50) of Mangali Thanda near Kandagatla village in the district.

According to sources, Lakavath Sunder( 35), Lakavath Sangu (50) , Lakavath Amar Singh, Jaatoth Gogya, Lunavath Ganesh, Lunavath Nagu, Boda Srinu and Jaatoth Malsur of Magali Thanda had been working as daily labourers at a private agency in the electricity department to erect electrical poles.

As part of their duty on Friday, they started to erect electrical poles on an agriculture land of a farmer located at Tirumalagiri village of Chivemla mandal . They loaded ten poles in the tractor trolley at the substation located at Durajpally and started their journey sitting on the poles.

Actually, driver Rammurthy was supposed to drive the tractor but supervisor Narender Reddy asked him that he would drive the vehicle and advised driver Rammurthi to come on his bike.

Meanwhile, the pole-loaded tractor was overturned on Hyderabad- Vijayawada highway at the outskirts of Vallabhapuram as driver-cum- supervisor Narender Reddy could not control the tractor.

In this incident, all the labourers sitting on the poles were buried under the poles and got severe injuries. Lunavath Sunder (35) was died on the spot, while Lunavath Sangu (50) died while undergoing treatment at Area Hospital in Suryapet.

Doctors said that the health condition of Amarsingh whose hip was broken in the accident was very critical. All the injured, whose health condition was serious, were shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. Police regularised the traffic on the national highway by removing the fallen poles and over turned tractor on the road.

Meanwhile, Minister Jagadish Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and District Collector K Surendra Mohan rushed to the spot and took special care for shifting the seriously injured to Hyderabad for better treatment.
