Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and national spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao alleged that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and State Congress working president A Revanth Reddy are in the same league of land grabbers.

“Those engaged in such activities are being shown as rowdy sheeters in Telugu films. But, it shows that Revanth Reddy seem to have engaged in similar activities in the disguise of a political leader and people’s representatives,” he said.

Further, the IT raids reveals the kin and kith of Revanth Reddy engaged in the same activities and the KSLR Infra is a benami of him, he said. Rao said the company in question had created fake sub-contracts to show payments to the tune of Rs 20 crore in accounts and to divert funds.

It was with such monies with which Revanth Reddy, who was considered closer to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, resorted to purchase people's representatives in vote for note incident.

It was in similar fashion TDP MP C M Ramesh, another close associate of the TDP chief was found floating income tax norms to the tune of Rs 100 crore, he added.

The BJP leader alleged that Revanth Reddy had admitted before the IT department that income to the tune of Rs 11 crore was not declared. Congress welcome and give recognition to such leaders as both Rahul and Revanth belongs to the same league, he said.

The BJP leader also demanded TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy to tender an apology for supporting Revanth Reddy. Taking a dig at Congress chief, Rao questioned as to why that party had not condemned the statements of the Congress leader and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu's inappropriate statements towards people of South India.
