Hyderabad: TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao is banking on the support of beneficiaries of his welfare schemes to win the elections to the Telangana Assembly. In an interaction with the candidates for the Assembly seats at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, KCR advised them to establish a personal rapport with such beneficiaries who are about 60,000 in each Assembly segment.

All the candidates were given the list of beneficiaries of various schemes of the TRS government such as Aasara Pension, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, KCR Kits, Rythu Bandhu, Kanti Velugu, etc. The message was clear to the candidates that they should make sure that they reach out to these beneficiaries and this alone would ensure their victory and getting in touch with the last voter in the polling booth would ensure huge majority.

“Whatever you have done during the last 45 days is one thing and coming 40-odd days are crucial for you,” said the CM to the candidates. The Chief Minister handed over the survey reports to the candidates stating that the government would win over 100 seats, said sources.

According to sources, the Chief Minister asked the candidates to make sure a lot of beneficiaries get to voting in the first few hours of the polling day. “The beneficiaries will definitely vote for the TRS and they should be brought to polling booths during the early hours. Later, the leaders should focus on the vote base of Opposition leadersto gain additional votes,” KCR said.

The Chief Minister asked the candidates to be cautious on the use of language and not to lose their temper while dealing with voters. He also cautioned them to keep a track of the expenditure, including the use of flags on vehicles and others as the observers of the Election Commission of India will be keeping a close watch on them.

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari later said that on an average there are about 60,000 beneficiaries of TRS government schemes in every constituency. “The Chief Minister told the candidates that if they can reach out to these beneficiaries, their victory is certain and if they touch upon the voters individually, they would win with huge margin,” said Srihari, quoting KCR.

Srihari said that all the surveys have indicated that the TRS would be forming the government again with over 100 seats. He said the party had taken up a sample survey after the partial manifesto was announced and the TRS has clear edge and the candidates need to strive for another 10 to 15 per cent. He said the candidates have been asked to reach out to every voter at least twice before the polling date. He said the candidates have been asked to open back offices for coordinating with the party activists.

The minister further said KCR will resume his campaign with a public meeting in Warangal this month-end. The Chief Minister would campaign in district meetings in Warangal, Khammam and Karimnagar and later constituency-wise meetings. Before the date of notification, he would complete the campaign in about 30 to 40 constituencies and after the notification he would campaign in the constituencies where the fight is expected to be keen. Sources said that the party has entrusted the responsibility of public meetings in the city and Sircilla to K T Rama Rao and the remaining to caretaker minister T Harish Rao.

Srihari said the dissidents have calmed down in many of the constituencies and if there are any the caretaker ministers have been asked to make them fall in line. He said there was no discussion on Mahakutami stating that the TRS does not consider it as a competitor.
