Sangareddy: District Collector Hanumantha Rao on Friday said that every citizen should have proper knowledge about the electoral process. A mock poll was conducted at the collectorate here on Friday. Apart from the Collector, JC, DRO and staff of different categories participated in the polling. The arrangements were made exactly like those at the real polling booth. Polling agents, voter list, polling staff, PO and APO were also present.

A special compartment in which EVM and VVPATs were kept was also arranged for the secret ballot. A control unit was maintained at the PO. All including Collector formed a queue line and entered the booth and exercised their franchise. Police personnel were also deployed separately for males and females. Specially abled voters also utilised their voting right.

Among them one was blind and another one was physically challenged. Joint Collector Nikhila, DRO Venkateswarlu, district officials, and as many as 300 employees of various departments took part in the mock polling. Collectorate AO Gunde Rao acted as the PO, while Kishore, Ramesh and Visweswarlu acted as the polling staff. Karthik and Ramanachary acted as agents.
