Maker Faire ends on a high note

Hyderabad: The Maker movement received a major fillip at the Hyderabad edition that concluded on Sunday as thousands headed tot eh venue to get a glimpse of innovations. Maker Space veteran Atul Yadav from Heramb Maker Lab from Pune talking about Maker Movement in India said, ‘To become an innovator and to make your innovation to happen you have to break, make and innovate.” Visitors were interested to know about the innovation from Tinkering lab, IIT Hyderabad has come out with gesture keyboard. This may replace in future the conventional computer key board. With the help of gesture keyboard, which will be very small in comparison to the conventional one, you can write in air and the same gets typed on the computer screen.
Another innovation that caught the imagination of people is Fox Lab, a Maker Space from Malabar in Kerala, built a very tiny computer called Single Board Computer with a dimensions of 8.5cm in length and 6.5cms in breadth. It costs just Rs 3000. They also showcased Long Range Lora, a Wide Area Network, with the help of which WAN network can be accessed remotely from 10km distance. India has always been a Maker Country.
