Uppalapu Saikrishna (Naani Krissh), son of maestro Late Mandolin Srinivas recently made an animation short film titled ‘Opperah’. The film was released recently, which was released on YouTube one week ago, has crossed 1.7 million within a short span of time.

His previous works include spoofs of ‘Eega’ and ‘Athadu’. He started learning visual effects (VFX) when he was eight years old. “Movies like ‘Spiderman’, ‘Hobbit’, among others inspired me a lot.

I wrote the script of the film and sent it to many people and they really appreciated the concept. When I told my friends that I am making a short animation film they said as it is one-of-its-kind and it could be a huge risk. However, I listened to my heart and followed my passion,” he shared.

Kalaipuli S Thanu producer of Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kabali’ also appreciated Saikrishna’s animation work in the film. Speaking about the film ‘Opperah’, Saikrishna said, “I toiled two years to make ‘Opperah’. I am glad that people are appreciating my graphic works in the film. My friends Avinash Pandey, Siddharth Sinduja, Priyanka and Venukumar acted in this movie. I hope this film takes Indian short films to another level.”

He also started SSK Arts in 2011 to support budding artists in the animation field. “I always wanted to do experiments. I’m also planning my next movie, which will have a very different concept. I want to become a director in future. At present I’m planning to send this film to international film festivals,” he concluded.
