Story:
Roshan (Akash) who's from India is a determined and gutsy individual who always wants to be a part of Army. On the other side, Afreen is the young girl from Lahore who comes to India for her education. What happens then forms the story of the movie.
Performances:
Akash Jagannadh and Neha Shetty made their debut with the film. Even though Akash was seen earlier in a lot of movies including Andhra Pori, he has shown much improvement in this outing.
Akash still needs to work on his body and histrionics. His dialogue delivery is impressive, and he delivered a decent performance in the movie. The new girl Neha Shetty is looking cute and gave a good performance in the film. The chemistry between the lead actors is too good in the film. The supporting cast has given their best to elevate the lead characters.
Technical Aspects:
The production design of the movie is impressive. The makers shot most of the movie in the real locations which brought the authenticity to the film. The makers also worked hard on the CG works for the war episodes which turned out well. The cinematography by Vishnu Sarma is impressive.
The film has got a unique tone which was achieved by the DOP. The editing by Junaid Siddiqui is neat. The music by Sandeep Chowtha is impressive, and his background score has come out well. The production values of the movie are luxurious and grand.
Verdict:
Mehbooba is one impressive movie that highlights the theme of reincarnation. Puri Jagannadh executed it very well and deserves the appreciation. The film is like an experiment for Puri Jagannadh regarding creating different characterizations for his lead roles. He has tried to be different, unlike his regular and previous movies. The India-Pak backdrop suited the story well in the movie.
Even though the story is impressive, Puri Jagan failed to execute it properly. The film's second half is much better than the first half, but the climax is a letdown again. The director has come up with an honest love story, and it is only good in parts. Worth a Watch.
