Melbourne: Each new day brings out some new information about Prince and his sudden death.

Now, it is being reported that the late singer had signed up for a rehab to battle his painkiller addiction before his death, says News.com.au.

The 'Puprle Rain' hit-maker took his last breath on April 21 at his Paisley Park mansion in Chanhassen, Minnesota, at the age of 57.

Sources said that Prince was seeing a doctor to help him deal with his chronic hip pain and he hoped to eventually stop using the prescribed medication.

As reported earlier, he used to score the opioid pills from multiple doctors, including "a personal friend" and he allegedly went to a local pharmacy in Minneapolis to fill prescriptions four times the week before he died.

Officials have yet to reveal the cause of his death.
