Warangal Cops present Sankranthi gifts to senior citizens
Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has on Thursday called on elders living alone in the Warangal and presented handloom cloths and Telangana special snacks like ‘Sakinalu’ and others.
Warangal: Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu has on Thursday called on elders living alone in the city and presented handloom cloths and Telangana special snacks like ‘Sakinalu’ and others.
The programme was taken up as part the Warangal Police Commissionerate’s ‘Senior Citizen Care and Concern’. The Commissioner along with senior police officials visited the residences of few elders at Premnagar Colony and Deshaipet in the city and presented the gifts and extended greetings marking Sankrathi festival.
During his visit, the Commissioner interacted with the elders and enquired about their health condition. Speaking on the occasion, he said the elders who were living alone would be provided medical assistance as well.
Nearly 134 senior citizens were given Sankranthi gift kits under the commissionerate limits on the day. The ACPs and CIs have visited the lonely elders in their respective areas and presented the gifts.
An elderly couple K Srinivas Reddy and Suguna of Premnagar Colony have expressed pleasure at the kind gesture of the Commissioner, Sudheer Babu.
‘The visit by the Commissioner today has added colour to our celebration of Sankranthi and we are very happy at his concern towards us,’ stated P Komuraiah and Sarojana of Deshaipet.
Central zone DCP MS Venugopal Rao, ACPs Muralidhar, Chaitanya Kumar, CIs Sampath Rao, Ravi Kumar and others accompanied the commissioner.
