GWMC staff wants better supply of tools

​Warangal: Telangana Municipal Employees Association GWMC chapter leaders have asked Municipal Commissioner Shruti Ojha to ensure proper supply of tools to the sanitation workers.

The leaders submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner seeking her to hand over the task of supplying tools and equipment to public health department of the Corporation.

Now the tools were being procured and supplied to the workers through engineering wing and it was causing delay in getting the tools needed for the workers.

The Association honorary president A Dharma Raju, president B Ramesh, general secretary R Bhasker, working presidents P Ramesh, G Sukhdev and A Sudhakar were among those who met the Commissioner. “Since one year, brooms are not supplied to the sanitation workers.

Many of the pushcarts are damaged and no repairs carried out in the past six months. About 40 per cent of the tractors used by the Corporation have outlived their service life,” the leaders complained.

The same was the condition of compactors and dumpers used to lift the garbage, the leaders added. Hence, the public health wing should be allowed to procure the tools to ensure their speedy supply, they sought.
