Sircilla: Complete the construction works of Panchayat Raj buildings by end of February, ordered District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar.

He chaired a review meeting with district panchayat raj officers and engineers at the Collectorate conference hall here on Tuesday.

Addressing the officials, the Collector said that the district panchayat raj officers (DPO) should conduct meetings with sarpanches and complete construction works of about 25 panchayat raj buildings, sanctioned by the government, by February 28.

He said the government had earlier released Rs 10 lakh funds for each building and another Rs 3 lakh would be sanctioned in February.

Krishna Bhaskar also ordered the DPOs to prepare a report with proposals for sanctioning Rs 12 crores under National Employment Guarantee Scheme for construction of CC roads along with giving much priority to SC and ST habitations and road connectivity.

The government has sanctioned about 43 new Anganwadi buildings in the district and the construction works will be started very soon at a cost of Rs 8 lakhs each, he added.

Joint Collector Yasmine Basha, Panchayat Raj Department Executive Engineer D Prashanth Rao, District Rural and Development Agency Project Director N Hanumantha Rao, District Welfare Officer Saraswathi and District Panchayat Officer V Shekar were present along with others.
