Led by the Commissioner of Police, about 150 police personnel conducted cordon and search operations at Hussainpura, Priyadarshini and Krishna Nagar colonies from 6 am to 8.30 am in Karimnagar on Monday.
They seized 20 two-wheelers and one auto, which do not have proper documents and also seized fake liquor prepared with spirit. Two persons were taken into custody.
Interacting with the locals, the Commissioner of Police, V B Kamalasan Reddy, suggested them to keep an eye on persons, who are moving suspiciously in their colonies. They were also told to come forward for installing CCTV cameras which would help the police to keep law and order under control along with controlling crime under the Commissionerate limits.
He ordered the people not to move on the roads after 11 pm since they received complaints about a few groups of people teasing and harassing women passing that way and warned them about stringent actions if caught.
The Commissioner suggested the people to check the details of persons, who take a house for rent and asked them to take the xerox copies of identity cards of those persons after observing the originals to prevent any untoward incidents.
ACP J Rama Rao, Inspectors Sadanandam, Shashidhar Reddy, K Hari Prasad were also present along with others in the Cordon and Search operation.
