Karimnagar: Several measures like intensifying both day and night patrolling, deploying special crime teams were taken to prevent crime and to maintain law and order under the Commissionerate limits, said the Commissioner of Police, V B Kamalasan Reddy.

He chaired a review meeting with crime teams here at Late Umesh Chandra memorial conference hall at the Commissionerate on Friday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Commissioner suggested the members of crime teams to create awareness among the people about the modus operandi of the thieves and steps to be taken to prevent the crime. He advised the crime teams to establish cordial relationships with the public so that they can pass on immediate information to them if they notice any suspicious persons in their locality.

The top boss declared that a cash award of Rs 50,000 would be given to those people, who help in cracking pending cases, who help in nabbing thieves and robbery gangs, those who gives necessary information and hand over evidences.

As many as 11 crime teams have been discharging duties with commitment under the Commissionerate limits. The teams have investigated several challenging cases with ease and arrested several notorious criminals with their good efforts, the Commissioner appreciated.

The members of the crime teams must investigate the cases using modern technology along with establishing perfect information system. Awards and rewards will be given to those officials, who discharge their duties perfectly, informed the Commissioner.

Assistant Commissioner of Police J Rama Rao, Inspectors Tula Srinivas Rao, Mahesh Goud, Vijay Kumar, Shashidhar Reddy, and Rangaiah Goud, assistant sub-inspectors Sarilal and Ravi were present along with others.
